Grand Opening Event A Huge Success!
On Saturday, November 12, Bay Tunes Guitars officially christened our new location at 15 Lee Airpark Dr. in Edgewater, MD with a grand opening celebration. We had an amazing turnout, with customers, friends, and many fellow musicians stopping by to wish us well. A few even got up to play a few tunes for the crowd!
Eloise Ullman and Matt McConville were on hand for the dedication of our lesson room hallway to the late Tim King. Tim is missed everyday at Bay Tunes, and he is still an inspiration to his students.
We would like to thank everyone who came out and helped make this event such a success. A special thank you goes out to everyone who made donations to the Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians (AMFM)! We were able to raise $400.00 for AMFM in just a few short hours at this event thanks to your generosity.

A beautiful Studio 10 Top in Purple Haze finish! PRS’s new 22 fret, 25” scale length Studio model electric guitar is a fresh, modern rendition of a traditional single-single-hum guitar set up with the beauty and brightness of a maple top. Paired with a “pattern regular” bolt-on neck and flat body design, the NF3 is a modern classic.

In celebration of Fender's 60th anniversary, we have the limited edition Fender Custom Shop "La Cabronita Especial" Telecaster®. With TV Jones pickups and S1 wiring, this guitar is a fitting tribute to Fender's history.

New From Ibanez
We think this just may be the coolest new guitar to come out since the Strat! The new Paul Gilbert Signature Fireman (FRM100TR) is one mean guitar! The FRM100TR features DiMarzio® pickups favored by Paul. The bridge and neck positions feature DiMarzio® Injectors™, while the middle features a DiMarzio® Area '67™. They are designed with hum-canceling construction to eliminate the noise but retain single-coil tone. These pickups have a warm, modern tone compared to vintage single coil pickups, and provide a clear, tight sound.
The neck of FRM100TR is different than the previous RG shapes in the Paul Gilbert signature series. It's thicker and fatter - 22mm@1st fret and 24mm@12th fret - for a classic feel. The 3 pc mahogany/maple/mahogany neck offers the player a fat and tight sound with a solid grip for comfortable playability And the original Ibanez Tight-Tune bridge and tailpiece promote superior transfer of string vibration without unwanted movement.

Bay Tunes Guitars welcomes bassist Dana Biagini (Dana B) to our teaching staff! Dana has been a fixture in the Baltimore/Washington/Annapolis area for many years, and he brings a wealth of playing experience to the lesson room. He will be teaching at Bay Tunes on Tuesdays.

Bay Tunes Donates Guitars To Blues Fest
Bay Tunes Guitars was proud to be a sponsor for this years' Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival on May 27th and 28th. We donated a Telecaster and a Stratocaster signed by all of the festival performers that were auctioned to benefit this years' charities (Special Olympics Maryland, We Care and Friends,The Johns Hopkins Cleft & Craniofacial Center, and Special Love). One of our favorite performers, John Mayall, is shown signing the Tele.

A New RBS Semester Will Be Coming Soon!
The Spring semester of Bay Tunes Guitar's Rock Band School came to a close with the Spring Semester Concert at The Whiskey in Annapolis, MD on May 1, 2011. The Spring Semester marked the first anniversary for this special program, which gives young musicians aged 12 to 17 the opportunity to gain experience playing in a band situation and performing live in a club setting.
A large crowd of family, friends, and supporters turned out to hear the RBS students play a challenging set of tunes from artists such as AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Nirvana, and The Beatles, among others. We want to congratulate all the young players on a job well done!
At the end of the RBS concert, Bay Tunes Guitars owner Bruce Packett performed a few tunes with his old "Sassafras Tea" bandmates Carlo DiGiovanni on bass and Timm Biery on drums. This reunion had been 36 years in the making, and proved once and for all that even the old guys can rock!!
Once we're totally settled in the new location, we'll be announcing plans for the next session of Bay Tunes Guitar's Rock Band School!
